Commissioner For Peace In Karachi:

Karachi: Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Saddiqui has said that writers can play a key role for restoration of durable peace in the city, and urged them to play their due role in this regard through their speeches, books, news, columns and poems.He expressed these views while addressing a ceremony of ‘tree plantation for peace’, organized in collaboration with Academy Adbiyat-e Pakistan at Commissioner Karachi Office. Renowned intellectuals, Zahira Nigah, Fatima Surayya Bajia, Prof Manzar Ayubi, Prof Pirzada Qasim Raza Saddiqui, Sheikh Abdul Aleem Josh and resident director Academy Adabiyat-e-Pakistan Aga Noor Muhammad Pathan inaugurated the ceremony by planting a sapling.
The commissioner said durable peace of the city would be ensured in the province through promoting literary activities and Shah Latif’s  message peace and love. He said writers and poets could spread the message of peace through their pen.The renowned writers in their views appreciated the efforts of commissioner Karachi for restoration of peace in the metropolis.

Aisha Manzil Flyover Being Constructed With Rs377m Cost:

KARACHI: KMC Administrator Syed Hashim Raza Zaidi has said that a track of under construction water pump flyover and Aisha Manzil flyover on Shahrah-i-Pakistan going from Sohrab Goath to Liaquatabad would be opened for traffic in third week of August whereas remaining two tracks of these flyovers and construction works of other flyovers on Shahrah-i-Pakistan should be completed as soon as possible.
He said this while visiting under construction flyovers on four intersections of Shahrah-i-Pakistan where he was accompanied by Director General Technical Services Niaz Ahmed Soomro, Project Director Shabi-ul-Hassan, concerned Engineers and other officers. On this occasion administrator was informed in a briefing that a track of Water Pump and Aisha Manzil Flyovers could not be opened for  traffic due to delay in import of expansion joints from Korea however the pace of construction works will now be enhanced and the track be opened in third week of August.
