KMC To Provide Land For First Law University In Pakistan:

KARACHI: The Karachi Municipal Corporation (KMC), will provide land for establishment of first law university of Pakistan “Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law” while the Education Department will finalize the PC-I of the project of university with in a week.It was decided in a meeting chaired by Sindh Governor, Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan here yesterday, said a statement.The participants also reviewed the progress and measures to establish the varsity. The meeting decided to arrange a suitable place in Karachi to operationalise the university at initial stage.Addressing the occasion, the Sindh Governor said that the project of first law university in Sindh was honor for the Sindh province and all of us will have to work in this regard on priority basis.Dr Ebad directed the Vice Chancellor to acquire the cooperation of former jurists and people associated the profession of law in connection with establishment of the law university.
The meeting was told that efforts were being made for affiliation of the law university with the international institutions of studies of law.It was also told that those five students, who been sent abroad by the Higher Education Commission for higher studies of law, will be appointed in the “Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto University of Law” on their return to Pakistan.The Chief Secretary Sindh and other officials concerned assured their full cooperation in establishing the university.Chief Secretary Sindh, Ejaz Chaudhry, Principal Secretary, Muhammad Hussain Syed, Vice Chancellor Law University, Qazi Khalid Ali, Secretary Finance, Suhail Rajput and other officials concerned attended the meeting.


DMC West holds flag hoisting ceremony:

A flag hoisting ceremony was organised by the District Municipal Corporation (DMC), West to mark Independence Day of Pakistan here yesterday. Administrator West, Imran Aslam along with the Superintendent Engineer hoisted the national flag. Besides teachers and students of various schools, the ceremony was attended by the officials concerned of the Orangi, Baldia, SITE and Keamari zones.
