District East Finalises Eid Arrangements:
KARACHI: District Municipal Administration East has finalised all necessary arrangements to provide better civic services to the people including cleaning and lighting on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
Besides cleaning, lighting arrangements and fumigation in the surroundings of mosques, Imambargahs and eidgahs, cutting of bushes has also been completed, said a statement.
Administrator East, Manzoor Abbasi along with officials concerned paid a detailed visit to different areas of district East and reviewed the Eid arrangements.
Commissioner Karachi Condoles Demise Of Qureshpur:
KARACHI: Commissioner Karachi, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui has condoled the passing away of quiz show compere Zulqarnain Qureshi, popularly known as Qureshpur and cited ir as a loss for all countrymen.
“We have been deprived of an intellectual and a man of integrity,” said the Commissioner.
In his condolence message to the bereaved family yesterday, he said Qureshpur, one of the few souls in the country who encouraged people to gain knowledge and develop love for books and literature, has left behind him a great void that could never be filled. Although for past few years he was leading a secluded life yet his presence around provided a great sense of relief to many, said the Commissioner.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and solace to his family. Commissioner Karachi has also expressed his sympathy with known columnist Irfan Siddiqui on death of his younger brother Inam Siddiqui.

ان خیالات کا اظہار انہوں نے بلدیاتی افسران کے ہمراہ سائٹ زون میں عید گاہوں اور نماز عید کیلئے مقررہ مقامات پر صفائی ستھرائی کے کام کا معائینہ کرتے ہوئے کیا انہوں نے موقع پر موجود افسران کو ہدایت دیتے ہوئے کہا کہ عیدگاہوں اور نمازعید کیلئے مقررہ مقامات اور اطراف میں صفائی ستھرائی کے ساتھ ساتھ جراثیم کش ادویات کے اسپرے کو بھی یقینی بنایا جائے جبکہ عوام کو عیدالفطر کی تعطیلات کے دوران صاف ستھرا اور صحت مند ماحول فراہم کرنے کیلئے صفائی ستھرائی اور جراثیم کش ادویات کے اسپرے کو تسلسل سے جاری رکھا جائے انہوں نے موقع پر موجود عوام سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے کہاکہ انتظامیہ بلدیہ غربی کا یہ وطہرہ ہے کہ وہ ہر قومی و مذہبی تہوار پر عوام کو صاف ستھرا ماحول فراہم کرنے کیلئے دن رات جدوجہد میں مصروف عمل رہتے ہیں امسال بھی الفطر کے پرمسرت موقع پر عوام کو تعطیلات کے دوران بلدیاتی سہولیات کی فراہمی کیلئے جامعہ منصوبہ بندی کے تحت ضلع غربی کے چاروں زونوں میں رہائش پذیر عوام کو تمام ممکنہ سہولیات کی فراہمی کیلئے جدوجہد میں مصروف عمل ہیں

Condolence On Food Poisoning Deaths:
Karachi: On the directives of Minister Local Bodies and Chairman Karachi Water & Sewerage Board Syed Awais Muzaffar the Managing Director of KW&SB Misbahuddin Farid visited KW&SB employee Ghulam Murtaza to condole on the death of his family due to food poisoning.
Commissioner Orders Removal Of Structures Built On Rain Drains:
KARACHI: Commissioner of Karachi, Shoaib Ahmad Siddiqui as per directives of the Sindh Chief Minister, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, yesterday ordered immediate removal of all concrete and otherwise, structures raised on and around storm water drains in the city.
Consequent to his detailed meetings with the heads of different civic agencies, functional in the metropolis, the commissioner also ordered cancellation of allotment orders issued to individuals as well as groups for building structures on nullah and drains meant to ease flow of rain water during monsoons.
Acknowledging the fact that the city is managed by different agencies and that there was registered to be a lack of coordination among these, Shoaib Ahmad Sidiqui said adding, violation of rules and regulations is unacceptable under any condition.
He said failure of concerned officials to prevent disruption created at rain water drains and nullahs needed to be avoided for good and a mechanism has to be developed to stop re-erection of structures being razed in compliance his orders.
The Commissioner of Karachi said `Rain Emergency Plan’ must be immediately finalized, in accordance to the contingency plans prepared by different district administrations and agencies as KMC, Cantonment Boards etc.
